The Plan Ahead (2018 Resolution)

Hello, again.

It has been a while since I wrote for this blog. First of all, I want to say Happy New Year 2018 (hope it's not too late for that). 2017 was such a good year for me with lots of ups and downs. A lot had happened last year such are :

- I graduated from high school
- I'm a college student now and I'm learning animation and game
- I turned 19
and more.

So many good things, at least for me.

"But where are the new 3d arts, also what happened to your channel, it's been a year and no videos!?" - me to myself

I was pretty surprised when I said that to myself. I don't know exactly what went wrong, but I think it all started when I decided to take a little break so I can focus on school until the final exam is over. But I think I enjoyed it a bit too much so when I had 3 months of day off, I ended up not doing anything at all! I decided to begin making something again when college started. Never have I thought that I would be even busier. Thankfully, I'm doing things I actually enjoy now so getting inspired to do more 3d arts should be easier (no more distracting high school duty to think about).

But one thing that bummed me so much is that I fried my graphics card on my trip by plane (yeah, I actually brought my computer by plane). That's one more motivation for me to work hard I guess.

By the way, I'm not really a guy who is interested in making new year resolution. If someone ever ask, I would probably answer it by mentioning screen resolution that might be cool in the future, you probably do the same. So, on my instagram and artstation page, I've posted several WIP projects. Many of them are left unfinished for various reasons, mostly lack of inspiration. Now I realised that it's not a good thing as an artist to never finish so many projects. This year I decided to do finish them, thus making it my new year resolution.

I'll finish Project The Boy first, and the rest will come later (in which order, I'll let you know along the way).

And thank you so much for subscribing to my channel, expect new videos soon.

Now, back to work.

Finishing School

Hey random visitor
I think that doesn't sound really nice
Let me fix it

Hello friend

That's better

okay, enough shenanigans
I just feel like... I think I need to post something here, after months of nothing (again). I really want to continue working on Project The Boy, but currently I'm going through final year of high school!
So, I need to focus on school for like... 5 months, more or less. And after that, I can begin doing these things full time! How exciting. But I can't really celebrate right now, as it is still uncertain whether that I really would have time for it or I will be even more busy with college. We'll see.

In the meantime, you can check out AIRY Channel (now AIRY) for cool videos I've made. I have made some plans and one of it is to make a tutorial about blender, also a character timelapse which would be really cool if I somehow manage to actually finish it.

Also my Artstation page, which has some cool stuff like 3D Viewer and my first photorealistic render ever that is actually really good, you can check it out as well.

That's it for now, these are all I have for you. Enjoy.

EDIT : I've been pretty active on Twitter lately. So you know, follow me or whatever. XD

Project The Boy #2 : A Change of Plan

Hi guys!
Back with more Project The Boy update
only that I'm really late, you know how terrible it is to break your own plan, though it is better late than never ;)

Okay, now let's talk about what's going on with the project
First of all, there has been a change of plan! The original idea was to make an environtment with as many tools as I could possibly use. But then, I have this idea to release the model for everyone else to use to make profit with lowest budget possible. So, I decided to use Blender for most of the work, the models that are already finished will be remodelled, yay! (no)

Secondly, I've been playing around with Dualshock 4 and so far it's been interesting, though it's not mine. I borrowed my friend's. I made my own walking blueprint just so I could use the controller, even though there is nothing in the level yet. xD

Also, I've done several new models. Nothing much, as I've been really busy with another things. I can only work on this project for at least 3 days a week, and usually I only work for 5 hours a day. That's why the progress has been really slow. How I wish I could finish this a bit faster, I really want to see this project get finished real soon. :)

Modelling in blender is really interesting. Coming from blender, then migrated myself to maya, then came back to blender, I could feel huge differences. In blender, it feels less destructive, maybe It's just that I'm not really that good with maya yet, still have a lot to learn. My favourite thing in blender is the BoolTool feature. It's really good for quick and less destructive boolean operation but the lack of good topology made me stick with manually placing edge loops instead, though for some cases booltool could be really useful. I'm sure maya has this as well.

As I mentioned before, I have a plan to release most assets in this project for free! For use inside unreal engine 4 of course. But, I don't think I could release it on the marketplace as they don't allow free content. Maybe gumroad? We'll see.

I think that's all it for now.
Let's see whether that I'll make it to bring more update this sunday or nah.
